In a bizarre turn of events in the ongoing Liverpool boardroom saga, manager Rafael Benitez has shocked the fans and the world in general by saying that next season just might not be "their year".
It is a widely known fact that the Spaniard, along with Stevie G and Torres,is the representative of god on scouseland. The Fans of the "Best team on the land" are very troubled by the sudden turn of events. In an interview to TheSpoof.com Poor Tommy Scouser said-"Everybody knows that we are the best team in England, and Rafa is the best manager in England, Kuyt is the best striker in England and Kewell is the best Winger in England.I have no clue what made him say this but I know for sure its the Evil Yanks fault".
Another source who refused to let his identity be known, fearing for his house's safety, said: "We donot want to know the truth. If we wanted a manager who gave us the truthwe would have hired Paul Jewell. We are proud fans, and we would rather live in false hopes".
In a response to the General outcry, Rafael Benitez admitted exclusively to TheSpoof.com that "Our defense is worse than Wenger's eyesight". The fans are finding this even harder to swallow than the Red card of Mascherano.
According to them, a backline of Jamie "That wasnt a penalty" Carragher,Daniel "Fitter than Owen" Agger,Sami "The Striker" Hyppia,Martin "I'm no Vidic" Skrtel and John "Semifinal Glory" Risse is as good as it gets. They also have two other Spanish guys, whose names they didn't remember.
When we questioned him about his mid-field,Rafa said "We have Gerrard". On being asked about the other 4 players Rafa said "Qué??"
We could see that Rafa was very eager to move on to the striking department,so without much delay we went on to that. But we had hardly finished our question when Rafa began to sing-"Torres, torres, torres, torres, torres, torr....." We were advised by the doorman to say "Chelsea-50 million" and it worked. Rafa became silent and the interview could go on.
So what about the Boardroom drama you ask? Rafa says that all that 'toro mierda' has nothing to do with him and he is just concerned with coaching and training his team. Although it had a bad effect on their season, according to Rafa it just gave him an excuse and he could perfect his rotation policy in the course of the season. When we said "But what about trophies?" he said something about a cycle and how the "commoners" didn't understand.
As we were running out of time we asked our final question. Rafa passed out before we could finish saying '6+5'.
So how does all this bode for the "Best fans in the world"?
Tommy scouser had this to say-"We are the best team in the world. We have the best manager in the world.Next year will certainly be our year.So what if we haven't won the league yet? That proves nothing.Trophies are for sissies like Man Utd.We have history".
Best team in the world? Sure. It just wasn't their year.
