image for Liverpool's Riise In Transfer Talks With Chelsea
A distraught Riise this morning

John Arne Riise, the Liverpool player who headed a late equaliser for Chelsea in the 95th minute of the Champions League Semi-Final first leg at Anfield last night, is to hold transfer talks with Blues' boss Avram Grant later today.

Chelsea, trailing 1-0, and without a chance throughout the entire game, drew level when Riise stooped to nod home a cross by Kalou, and the Londoners will now feel confident of overcoming their Merseyside rivals when the two teams meet again next Wednesday.

Riise has been unhappy with boss Rafa Benitez recently over his lack of opportunities in the first team, and the Norwegian certainly showed his displeasure last night after coming on only when Aurelio went off injured.

He didn't waste much time in levelling things up, and now Chelsea boss Grant wants Riise in his team for next season to bolster his left-hand side. Said Grant:

"I watch him a few times. He got good shot, and good big head as well!"
