Formula One team boss, Flavio Briatore, batted away recent suggestions in the media that he has a long lost son which he is thought to be reunited with.
Speaking at the launch of the Renault F1 Team's 2008 car, Briatore was quick to laugh of inferences that he fathered double world champion Fernando Alonso, whose high profile return to his former team this year has been met with much focus on his close relationship with Flavio Briatore.
"He's not a son", Briatore answered bluntly to questions about his 'prodigal son'. "I'm too young to have a son", he continued to protest.
Briatore, who is thought to already have a daughter with supermodel Heidi Klum and is currently engaged to an Italian model, had been photographed several times throughout last year sharing a fond fatherly moment in the paddock with Alonso, who was experiencing a difficult relationship with his then-team bosses at time. Similarly, Alonso was often seen in 2007 spending most of his free time during race weekends at Renault's quarters, but it is not known if this was directly related to any discussions about his paternity.
Fernando Alonso's known biological father, José Luis Alonso, has stayed silent on the matter, but continues to stay close to his son's career progress, causing scepticism that the allegations are indeed false.
