LA - Former England Captain, David Beckham, who recently moved to the USA to try and milk the last few quid from his rotten career is set to quit Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of this week, an insider has told The Spoof.
After scoring the first goal in his debut match for LAG, against league leaders D.C. United, Beckham, 42, was booed off the field and bottles of what is called "piss" in America were thrown at him. Unrepeatable remarks about his failing popstar wife were also shouted at him during the 90 minute match.
The Spoof spoke to fans after the match who said that their disappointment was not targeted at "that English queen" but at the game of football in general, apparently a soccer match is too short for American tastes.
Beckham has vowed to win over the American public and is now switching to cricket in a final bid for a following in the US. He has told us: "If 90 minutes isn't long enough for these wet Yank bastards then they can watch me for 5 days."
He has signed a 2 year deal with Hicksville County Cricket Club and will start playing once he understands the rules.
