Brett Favre had demanded that he be traded by the Green Bay Packers. The desire comes from the team not making a deal to bring controversial wide receiver Randy Moss to the Wisconson city. "Since the team isn't trying to get newer, better players around me with a desire to win, I want to go some place that will."
When asked where he felt would be a good place for him to go and finish his career, Favre was upset. "Finish my career? Who said I was going to finish? I'm still young! Blanda played until he was really old, and I'm not there yer. I've still got a lot of good years left in me! I'm only going to be a 17 year veteran!"
One team that might be a good fit for the aging quarterback is the Dallas Cowboys. A few years back, they gave the reins to an ancient Vinnie Testaverde. They also allowed Troy Aikman to play a few years past his prime. Recently, they brought in Drew Bledsoe, who was almost as old as his head coach.
When asked how he would feel backing up last year's first time starter, Tony Romo, Favre was indignant. "Tony Romo? Isn't that the name of a rib restaurant? He can suck on his pacifier and watch me throw to T.O. all he wants. If I go to the Cowboys, I'll be the starter."
