Arsene Wenger is said to be keen to dip into his summer transfer war chest to bring experience to the goalkeeping department, after admitting in a recent press conference that his current 1st choice keeper is too inexperienced for the premier league.
"I need an intelligent goalkeeper" said the Veteran Arsenal manager.
David Lucas, Fleetwood town's second choice goalkeeper, has been in sensational form and has made some top quality saves in recent training sessions.
"I just try to focus on my game, and to improve everyday." said the 36 year old shot stopper in an interview. "It's flattering when your skill is recognized by top clubs such as Arsenal. I would love to play for them one day."
Arsenal would look to trigger the goalkeeper's 50 million pound release clause, but they expect tough competition for the player's signature from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who are also reported to be interested in signing Lucas.
