Local man Vic Flannerty is using his native Chi-Town wits to get himself to the Winter Games in Russia.
Some time ago, it occurred to him that his adeptness with guns could lead to a place on the "Biathlon" team for this years Olympics.
The Biathlon competition features skiers who fire at targets along a planned route.
Flannerty uses guns regularly in his various "businesses" and gets a lot of target practice around town, most of it entirely spontaneous.
The only piece of equipment he lacked was a pair of skis, a problem that he handily solved last Saturday after a quick stop at a Southside sporting goods store where he also borrowed a ski mask.
Chicagoans wish Flannerty a hearty farewell and good riddance in his trek to snowy Sochi, Russia!
