LONDON - London Bridge figuratively fell down right smack dab on the Jaguars of Jacksonville as they were soundly beaten by the San Francisco 49ers 42-10.
The NFL game was held in London's Wembley Stadium before a crowd of 83,559, many of whom were graciously cheering for the team from Florida to the very end.
49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick ran for two touchdowns and passed for another. After the game he said that he could not believe how the smell of crumpets premeated throughout the entire stadium.
He confessed that the smell was so fantastic that during halftime back in the locker room he ate three blueberry crumpets with a cup of tea.
Kaepernick said that he plans to visit Buckingham Palace, the Tower Big Ben, and the apartment where Petula Clark lived when she recorded her hit song "Downtown."
Meanwhile the Jaguars will be the special guests at a fajita barbecue that is being thrown at the estate of London native and judge on Dancing With The Stars Len "The Grouchy Grouch" Goodman.
