WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Obama said that he is thrilled that the NFL football season is finally here.
The commander-in-chief talked with Rufus Reno of Sports Balls Illustrated Daily and said that there is nothing he likes better than betting on sports games.
He informed Reno that he had made a $700 bet with Speaker of The House John Boehner that the Denver Broncos would defeat the world-champion Baltimore Ravens in the season's opener and they did, 49-27.
The president was asked if he doesn't feel that the president of the United States should not be betting on football or any other type of sport for that matter.
President Obama smiled, "Rufie" he said, "Let me make this perfectly clear so that there is no question in your mind or anyone else's mind okay?"
The president paused for a moment and said, "I make sports bets because I want the citizens of the great United States to know that their president is just like their Uncle Joe or their Grandpa Bob who get tremendous pleasure from making sports bets."
Reno remarked that he made a great point.
"Of course I do Rufie, I mean come on dude, the American people did not elect me simply because I was much more handsomer than old Mitt "The Flip Flopper" Romney, they elected me because I am just like their Uncle Joe and their Grandpa Bob."
SIDENOTE: Mrs. Obama says that she has nothing against her husband betting on sports events. She added that she herself won $15 last week betting on a WWE wrestling match between the Witch of Walla Walla and Nancy "Lips" Lippavecki.
