England coach Roy Hodgson was 'fuming' last night after being refused a complimentary ticket to the Super Sunday Liverpool v Man United Premier League clash at Anfield.
Hodgson, who was Liverpool coach only two years ago, was refused a gratis ticket by a new YTS club intern who'd just started working in the ticket office. A source who claimed to have overheard the conversation said that Hodgson couldn't understand the 'thick scouse accent' of the youth in the ticket office, and the youth in turn couldn't decipher Hodgsons own distinct lisp, which makes it awkward for him to pronounce his own first name.
The 61 year old considered watching the match in a local pub, but was sold a ticket by a tout just five minutes before kick-off and managed to sit just below the press area.
Liverpool Reds beat United Reds by one goal to zero to move top of the English Premier League (EPL). A spokesman for Liverpool said "Calm down, calm down - he saw da game in da end did he not now do da?"
