NEW YORK CITY - Kobe Bryant recently appeared on The Viagra View with Larry King and Regis Philbin.
The Los Angeles Laker star told them that last season he took on the role of a player-coach and it seemed to work out pretty good.
He said that he has decided that for the 2013-2014 NBA season he is going to be even more of an on-court coach than before.
The Black Mamba as he nicknamed himself, remarked that he knows that he can do just about as good a job of coaching as any coach in the NBA with the one possible exception of San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich.
Kobe pointed out that Coach Pop has the best winning percentage (.679) of any coach in the NBA, the NFL, MLB, and the NHL during the last 15 years.
When Bryant was asked by Regis if he is still going to be the team's on-court cheerleader, Kobe grinned and said that when you are as talented and as gifted as he is, you can do all kinds of things.
King asked, "So then Mamba, is that a yes."
"Yes, it's a yes Larry. And the name is the Black Mamba, okay bro?
"Gotcha." King replied.
SIDENOTE: Kobe said that he talked to the number one Lakers fan of all time, Jack Nicholson. He said that he told Jack that he would appreciate it if he would be a little more animated and yell at the refs, the opposing players, and the opposing coaches because last year he just sat there like he was waiting for a damn bus.
