BOSTON - The coach of the Boston Celtics, Doc Rivers, has finally got his wish. He has been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and he is about as happy as Wynonna Judd sitting in a pile of fried okra and tater tots.
Rivers was traded for a 2015, 89th round draft pick. He told Sports Balls Illustrated Daily's Rufus Reno that he is thrilled to finally get away from the harsh New England winters, clam chowder, and most of all the drama of the Celtics sports soap opera that is known by the name As The Basketball Turns.
Doc quipped to Reno that he has his SPF 45 sunscreen ready and can hardly wait to lay out on the warm sands at Santa Monica Beach.
The 51-year-old coach said that he received congratulatory text messages from Clippers players Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.
He remarked that Paul's text read: "Can hardly wait to get with you to work on our plan to whip the Laker butts."
Griffin texted him saying that he knows that the Clippers are going to be so damn good that even the #1 Lakers fan Jack Nicholson may jump the USS Laker and get on board the USS Clipper.
SIDENOTE: Chris Paul told Sporting Chance Magazine that he is so excited about Coach Rivers that he will agree to sign a 12-year contract.
