NEW YORK CITY - Faith Hill has been singing the introduction theme "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night" to NBC's Sunday Night Football since 2007, but that has just changed.
Effective with the opening of the 2013 NFL season Hill will no longer have that coveted job and it will now fall to fellow country artist Carrie Underwood.
Branson F. Dippindopper, a spokesperson for the Peacock Network was asked by Rufus Reno with Sports Balls Illustrated Daily why they had decided to make the change.
Dippindocker stated that the network just felt that it was time to let Faith Hill, who is 45-years-old, go.
He went on to say that the powers-that-be decided that Ms. Hill's odometer just had way too many miles on it.
They immediately offered the job to 30-year-old Carrie Underwood who said yes to the singing gig quicker than a woodpecker can chop a popsicle stick in half.
Hill did ask if she could save face and say that the whole thing was her idea. At first they said no, but after they received a call from a representative with the Grand Old Opry they decided to go ahead and make it seem like it was all Ms. Hill's idea.
SIDENOTE: Joan Rivers reportedly said that it was about time that they put Faith out to pasture since lately she has become more and more of a Madonna type prima donna making all kinds of demands about this, that, and the other.
