Blackburn Rovers Global Advisor Shebby Singh broke his silence today to explain what his job title actually means.
Speaking to Robbie Savage on BBC radio phone-in 606 (nicknamed moan-o-moan in the football industry) he finally revealed the answer to the question on football fans lips for the last five months.
"Well you see, I have been global advisors to the Venkys (Blackburn Rovers owners) for five years now and previously I was in charge of sourcing the best meat for the chicken shops - the Venkys core business. Having studied in England (and working part-time in a KFC just outside of Greater Manchester) I was the obvious candidate to handle the day to day running of the Blackburn Rovers Football activities"
The Global Advisor continued "Before I was overseeing the ordering the chicken for the shops - now I oversee the ordering of footballers and managers - it's pretty much the same thing - some say I'm still flogging dead meat"
The Venky's took over the struggling football club in November 2010 and one month later sacked Sam Allardyce as manager with the club 13th in the Premier League. Assistant Steve Kean took the job after a spell as caretaker. Former player and fans favourite Henning Berg took over as manager in October 2012 from Steve Kean, but was sacked after just 57 days following 1 win in 10 games.
The interview can be heard on the BBC sports website.
