After three games and only one goal Rafael Benítez has been sacked by Chelsea FC. This after a humiliating 3=1 loss to cross town rivals West Ham United.
Already there are rumors as to who will take Benítez' place with several names doing the rounds. Top of the list is David Beckham. The former England skipper does have his coaching badges and will be a free agent after playing his last game for LA Galaxy today. However he has said that he is looking for a playing role before moving in to team ownership in the States.
Recently fired QPR boss Mark Hughes was popular with Chelsea fans when he was a player at the club. But his spells with Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers will make him a target for the fans if appointed. However this has never stopped Roman Abramovich from appointing someone before.
Paul and Barry Chuckle better known as The Chuckle Brothers are also said to be in the frame. Paul did play Rugby League while Barry used to manage an under sevens side for a local church in the 1970's. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is said to be a big fan of their TV show 'Chuckle Vision.'
So far though the bookies choice is that a £18m package will bring back former manager José Mourinho from Real Madrid and with him a loan deal for former Manchester United star Christiano Ronanldo who is moving to LA Galaxy in a deal reported to be worth $100m next year to take David Beckham's place as team mascot.
