LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Phoenix Suns 97-86 in Phoenix in what was billed as Steve Nash's homecoming.
The point guard's homecoming was nothing but more heartache as the Lakers are now languishing with a 20-26 record.
Sporting Chance Magazine is reporting that Lakers owner Jerry Buss is literally fit to be tied.
He is so upset with his team that he is even refusing to take calls from the teams player-coach Kobe Bryant.
Mark D'Antoni is actually the purple and gold's head coach on paper, but everyone on the Left Coast knows that it is just a formality and that Kobe Bean is really pretty much running the show.
Buss met with SCM's Hercules Confetti at The Silly Sardine Seafood Restaurant in Marina Del Rey.
He informed Mr. Confetti that he is seriously considering firing Coach D'Antoni and replacing him with the Lakers former coach Phil Jackson.
When asked if that was due to the fact that his daughter Jeanie, 51, is now engaged to Jackson, who is 67, Buss grinned, took a bite of his Sweet and Sour Jellyfish and nodded in the affirmative.
Buss pointed out that he has always strived to make his little girl happy and he knows that she would be thrilled beyond belief if her fiancé becomes the head coach of the Lakers.
Jeanie, who is the Laker organization's executive vice-president of business operations recently suggested to her daddy that Phil the Pill, as she affectionately calls Phil would love to step into the coach's shoes.
Miss Buss, who is known in L.A. as The High Priestess of LaLaLand, has remarked that giving Jackson the coach's job would be a fantastic wedding present for the both of them.
SIDENOTE: Kobe Bryant has said that he would greatly welcome Jackson back. Pau Gasol replied that all though not quite fond of Jackson, he admits that the Zenmaster does know how to win. And Metta World Peace commented, "Phil and Jeanie are engaged?"
