The Patriots are in knots-and sending flowers is premature. There is still some life left in Belichick's minions.
The happy hours of many victories have evaporated and the 2012 honeymoon is already over. Fans are no longer adoring the Josh McDaniels offense or the vaunted Belichick defense.
Fans have their panties in a knot and scanties in a twist, as we go off, shuffle off, shuffle off to Buffalo-heading to Niagra hoping not to be in a sleeper. Belichick's train is lulling us to snooze.
Let's hope the Bills don't leave another little souvenir of bad games, just another cute, "It is what it is."
As Bill Parcells once told us, "You're as good as what your record says you are."
So we are going to shuffle off to Buffalo, once a bastion of sure victory. Whether they go away (or away we go), we sure to shuffle off in Buffalo.
Gronk will be right at hometown, and the fans will throw flakes at him. At least the regular referees will be there, though their ability is as much baloney as the replacements if the Patriots lose.
In a year or so, we may laugh about the losing record. Right now, we are busy packing before we shuffle off to Buffalo.
