image for Fergie Calls Luis Suarez - "A Disgrace To Liverpool Football Club"
"We're Not Racists - We Only Hate Mancs!"

In an astonishingly outspoken post match interview on Sky Sports, Sir Alex Ferguson branded Luis Suarez: "A disgrace to Liverpool Football Club" and went on to say that Suarez's actions, in refusing to shake the hand of United's Patrice Evra, could have sparked a riot.

Suarez, returning from a lengthy ban for racially abusing Evra in a match at Anfield, may have put himself in an untenable position by his actions. If Liverpool FC continue to publicly support the Uruguayan striker, they may well be accused of officially condoning racism.

Sir Alex, remarkably calm, considering the circumstances, preferred to talk about the football, saying that his team performed excellently in one of the tensest clashes on the football calender, and that they should have won by a greater margin than 2-1

Tension between Manchester United and Liverpool remains sky high - Suarez was booed throughout by the United crowd, and subjected to some not so subtle chants and songs, with United fans unanimously chanting: 'You Scouse Bastards!' as Liverpool players and staff confronted Evra as he frolicked about like something quite demented in front of a crowing Stretford End.

United fan, Jarbo The Killer said that he was disappointed that Evra hadn't sprinted the full length of the pitch in order to celebrate in front of the Scouse contingent, 'Like what Gary Neville did that time. That'd have been dead good, that,' he said.

Ironic then that a Scouser - Wayne Rooney - scuppering the Scousers in a comprehensive victory will probably be overshadowed by the ongoing Evra/Suarez controversy.

One United fan, making his way towards the bus stop on Chester Road was heard to say:

"Let's kick racists out of football."
