ATLANTA - Turner Network Television which televises many of the NBA's basketball games has just announced their new re-adjusted television schedule.
A spokesperson for TNT, Winston Twickenbuck, spoke with Achtung Zumwalt of TV ClickerWorld and informed him of the new TNT schedule.
Twickenbuck, no relation to Lord Twickenbuck of Wolverhampton, England, stated that the top executives at TNT have been working overtime trying to figure how to fill the viewing void that the NBA lockout has caused.
One long time executive suggested that TNT hire England's X-Factor Judge Louis Walsh and give him a three hour talk show, ala Piers Morgan Tonight.
Another executive who had been here longer than the first one said that we already have too many British personalities on the air including Simon Cowell, Len Goodman, Cat Deeley, Sharon Osbourne, Nigel Lythgoe, Naomi Campbell, Ricky Gervais, Steve Jones, and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who occasionally substitutes for Piers Morgan.
A third executive noted that he remembers the days when we only had two Englishmen on the telly, as the Brits refer to the television, David Frost and Arthur Treacher.
So after back and forth deliberations that lasted three days, TNT finally agreed to fill the basketball game void by showing reruns of the first season of American Idol.
According to Ryan Seacrest, host of American Idol, TNT ended up paying the FOX Network, which produces and owns the rights to American Idol a total of $4.7 million for the televising rights.
Seacrest told Bedroom Pillow Talks Gazebo Serengeti that he and his girlfriend Julianne Hough of Dancing With The Stars fame are thrilled beyond belief because Ryan's share of the $4.7 million will be $1.9 million.
SPOILER ALERT: If you do not want to know who the winner of American Idol season number one was please stop reading right now. The winner of season one of American Idol was Kelly Clarkson.
