The global Skype blackout has been caused by a ninety-five year old Granny in Australia attempting to contact her family in the UK, she pressed the wrong button and the whole system crashed.
Millions of people attempting to contact their families to send them special Christmas wishes are now being forced to use the "old fashioned" method of mobile telephones or normal telephones without pictures.
After finding the Australian Granny Skype personnel contacted her and asked her why she panicked and pressed the wrong button, here her answer:
"My grandchildren went out for the day surfing so I thought I'd show em that OAP's can still use modern technology, I put the computer on, 'Skyped' my son in London and all of a sudden they appeared, I thought they were all ghosts, it frightened the life out of me, I panicked and pressed the wrong button?"
Apparently Granny had heard the word Skype being used by the kids and thought it meant "Sky Type" sending messages through the computer like E mails without video pictures and the sight of her ugly son nearly gave her a heart attack.
Skype have issued a health warning to all over 80's living far away who never thought they would see the day when their families could appear through a computer screen, here it is:
"Skyping can kill, beware of shock images of long lost ugly relatives appearing they're not ghosts from the past!"
