image for Cleverest Man In World Says "Brains Keep Growing? Well D'uh!"
Is your skull big enough?

Scientists have revealed that contrary to previous understanding, the human brain keeps growing into middle age.

It is established science that our bodies are, generally, fully grown by the age of 21. But now it seems the brain keep going

Prof Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, a neuroscientist at University College, London, told the British Neuroscience Christmas Symposium: "Until about ten years ago we pretty much assumed that the human brain stopped developing in early childhood.

"But we now understand that this is far from the truth and that many brains keep on developing for decades."

Startling though this revelation appears, it hasn't surprised everyone.

The world's cleverest man, Defoe K Scartlead, of Burbage, Leicestershire, said: "Brains keep going? Hallelujah! I could have told you that.

"I've been getting these headaches since I turned 32... feels like my brain is bursting out of my skull...

"Then there are these voices - people shouting, worshipping me... it hurts...

"Kneel before me, insignificant scum! Give one me reason why I should spare your miserable lives... Pathetic creatures! You are the playthings of Lord Scartlead!

"Yes, where was I... oh, expanding brains. Well, perhaps they will listen to me now."
