Houston, TX-- NASA scientists alerted President Obama about an unexpected discovery in Outer Space on Monday. The Kepler Mission had discovered something ominous around a solar-system 250 light-years away. NASA scientists say it is a Borg ship, and it could be heading towards Earth.
NASA designed the Kepler Mission to search for earth-like planets in the Milky Way Galaxy. The mission was launched in 2009, but full results are not expected until 2012. The Borg sighting was an unexpected surprise.
NASA scientists are also busy searching old photos from the Hubble Space Telescope. It's possible the Milky Way Galaxy is completely infested with the Borg. The scientists urged the president to make a statement to the public about the ominous situation.
President Obama thought it was a great idea. He called in all the television networks to the White House. It would be his first news conference since July.
The president smirked gleefully at the television camera as the red light came on. It was the shortest press conference in history, and the most troubling. The president only spoke three words.
"Resistance is futile." he said.
