A man who was reading news items on a satire and parody news website called TheSpoof.com has spoken of a sensual awakening after exploring his genome and discovering himself.
Albert Jones, 62, of Carmarthen, was reading a story on the website when he noticed what he at first took to be a most intrusive advert stuck right in the middle of the text he was scouring. Mr Jones said "There was this advert see, for a company called BioResolve and it said 'Explore your genome and discover yourself' so I did."
What he found was life-changing. Mr Jones went on "I clicked on the picture, and then there was this other picture of an Oriental man. He was grinning. Further down there was a little image of a doctor so I clicked on the play button and he started to talk! He said
'I'm here to talk to you about one of the most important investments you can make in yourself.
BioResolve offers you the chance to take a look into your future by looking at your DNA. Your DNA is responsible for how your body works, how you age and for which diseases you may develop.
Our personal genoming service will report your genetic disposition for virtually all known diseases, traits and conditions to you, and as new discoveries are published, your report will grow to include them.
With knowledge of your health's future, you can take chance out of the equation, and take control today!' Then he blinked."
I was totally shocked. I must have made a mistake. I thought the advert was going to tell me about me own genomes, you know, the ones around me fish pond! What a silly bastard I am!"
