NASA made a dramatic announcement today that may very well prove that we are not alone in the universe.
Mars has nougat.
Scientists with NASA's Rover program revealed that while analyzing the surface of Mars, their automated Spirit vehicle has uncovered a dry riverbed that billions of years ago flowed with nougat.
Nougat, a sweet treat found in popular candy bars was long thought to be a delicious man made creation, now top scientists believe some ancient Martian civilization enjoyed nougat's sweet and tasty goodness eons before dinosaurs walked the earth.
"We have always believed there were highly advanced civilizations on other planets," a top NASA researcher commented. "Now we have proof that not only was there life on Mars, but they enjoyed yummy treats filled with this scrumptious confection."
Top minds in the scientific community theorize that nougat might have served other purposes for the inhabitants of the red planet. "Perhaps they used nougat as fuel to power their space vehicles, or as an energy source to power their moving sidewalks in their vast shining cities," another NASA scientist mused. "The people of Earth should take a lesson from our extinct Martian brethren and devise some ways for mankind to benefit from this ooey gooey creation."
