image for Barren Field Becomes Stargazers' Paradise

Ranger, North Carolina (IP) - A barren field in the an area near Ranger, North Carolina has become a stargazers' paradise.

A black cube has appeared in the square field and when a stargazer enters the cube he is immersed in total darkness with the entire night sky before him or her. All of the constellations shine without having to compete with light pollution which plagues almost every location in the United States.

The authorities have become disturbed by the presence of the cube after finding out that many people have given up television and would prefer to gaze at the night sky. One man stated that television was a waste land and he was tired of all of the lame commercials he had to endure every night and he said he despised the pharmaceutical commercials the most.

A government spokesperson announced that the Army Corp of Engineers was going to set up bright lights in the area where the cube is located or perhaps expose the people using the cube to loud amplified television commercials run repeatedly so as to drive away the stargazers.

Make drugtestallpoliticians's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
