Mount Polamar, California (IP) - After thousands of years of naming the astronomical constellations after figures made famous in various white cultures the International Astronomical Union (IAU) has decided that it is only fair that some of the constellations should be assigned black culture names.
The IAU has very wisely decided that the constellations can actually keep their old names but will have two names each with one of the names being names familiar and popular among African-Americans.
Orion the Hunter will hence forth also be known as Lavernius and Taurus the Bull will share names with Darius. Aries will also be called Keyshawn.
Ursa Major will have the second name of Tyrone and Ursa Minor will be known among African-Americans as Latreena. Cassiopeia will be called Yolanda. Gemini will be known as Niquisha and Tiquisha.
Aries will be called Robitusin and Cepheus is also Escalade. Draco has been assigned the name Sheniqua and Pisces the name Tamiqua. Scorpio is now Tacquineisha.
