image for Astronomer Slams Britain's Hopeless Space Effort
"This is what we're not reaching for" Sir Patrick Moore

Pop-eyed astronomer, Sir Patrick Moore, has slammed the government for not doing enough space stuff. He told us:

"It's a bloomin' disgrace. We haven't done any space stuff at all except for the odd rocket and satellite thing. But look at the Americans! They've went to the moon and all and that!"

Minister of Space, Buzz Lightyear defended the government's position.

"We can't really justify sending people into space as it's scary and dangerous too. Have you seen those Alien films? I near cacked me pants when I saw that thing coming out of matey's chest. Anyway it costs too much as well"

But Sir Moore hit back with a scathing indictment:

"Just typical of the government. They spend money on all sorts of weirdoes, spongers and dole scroungers but can't be bothered to send people into space! Pah!"

Beardy bloke and Catweazle looky-likey, Richard Branson comments:

"Why can't I be one of those dragons in Dragons' Den? I'm more famous than that load of berks all put together"
