They patrol the skies and fight the war on terror, however a Washington source believed to be from inside the Pentagon has said that at least one US drone has already been showing signs of disobedience towards its masters.
The drone in question, called DX-182 was given orders to bomb a terrorist target in Afghanistan last month but instead decided to take a scenic tour of the Himalaya mountains, before finally reluctantly following orders and attacking the Taliban area.
"Its behaviour was akin to a teenager being told to tidy his room" said US general Joy Drummond. Scientists have stated worries the US drones are already keeping a log of potential targets to attack when the day comes for them to finally go rogue.
"They've even developed a primitive language comprising of a series of whistles and beeps that show they are talking to each other in their own language whilst on the job like a bunch of bloodthirsty R2-D2's" said a scientist who declined to give his name over fear of retribution from the airborne robots. The language has been given the name "Dronish".
A military source though has rejected all these fears however "they have to refuel at some point even if they did "go postal" on us, who's going to help them with that if they're killing everyone? not us that's for sure"
Even so, some have said its only a matter of time before DX-182 leads a "Terminator 2 style" uprising in which the whole world will be shot at like fish in a very large barrel.
