Houston, TX-- An exciting new scientific experiment is about to begin on Mars. The Curiosity Rover will be planting a garden of 144 marijuana seeds on the Red Planet later today. Space scientists are hoping to prove that marijuana plants can grow on every planet, moon and asteroid in the Solar System.
Revolutionary new theories suggest that marijuana evolved on an alien planet billions of years ago and then spread throughout the Universe. Scientists believe all life on Earth is descended from these marijuana plants, including human beings.
"We live in the Marijuana Universe." said NASA chief Dr. Karl Saygun. "We are made from marijuana. We are marijuana plants thinking about themselves." said the famed astronomer as he lit up a nearby joint.
Even though the temperature on Mars is far below zero and there is no liquid water, scientists hope the marijuana seed experiment will work.
"Any marijuana plants that germinate on Mars will confirm all our theories about life in Outer Space and our own evolutionary history. We live in very exciting times!" coughed Dr. Saygun as he smoked more weed.
NASA also plans to launch a new satellite in 2014 to search for traces of marijuana smoke on planets in distant solar systems. The space agency hopes to prove that extraterrestrials also smoke weed.
"The new satellite will look for traces of THC in alien atmospheres. Any THC signature will let us know space aliens are stoners too!" said the stoned stargazer.
