Amateur photographers and YouTube videographers are on the hunt for the only cat in the world not to have had it's photo taken or been videoed doing something cute and/or amusing.
"We believe the cat is in the Dorking area," said Simon Ease, who is heading the hunt. "We located the Salford cat, and managed to get a video of it falling off a wall and into a bin. We got that on YouTube this morning."
With the Salford cat, whose name turned out to be Flibbles, safely in the bag - so to speak - the hunt is now on for the Dorking cat.
"At the moment," said Ease, "we don't know where abouts in Dorking the cat will be, but we have a fair idea that it belongs to Jessica Hitchin, and is probably ginger with darker ginger stripes."
The last sighting of the cat, whose name is believed to be Clive, indicated that it was a rather scrawny animal, and was unlikely to win any cutesy competitions.
"As the animal is believed to be about as cute as Eamonn Holmes," said Ease, "We are hoping that the cat will either do something funny, like trip over its own whiskers, or it will pull a face that makes it look like Tim Minchin."
There have been several sightings of cats in Dorking over the past few hours, but it turns out all of these are on Flikr.
"We are asking people of Dorking to keep an eye out for a cat that they've not seen on the internet," said Ease. "As soon as it's spotted, if they can send a tweet to @EveryCat, we'll be right round with cameras and videos."
