Ever get the creepy feeling that someone is watching you when your in you house? Ever wonder if the Big Brother paranoia was more than just paranoia? Ever feel like technology could be used for evil purposes?
Well it appears your worries and fears may be more than just fear and worry.
Robert Justin a respected electrical engineer has come forward to reveal that the cable boxes that are installed in almost every home across the globe not only bring pictures into your home but are in fact two way communication boxes. In other words the cable companies have the capability to turn on cameras in your cable box and see what your doing in your home.
Robert Justin was contracted to do the electronic design for cable boxes that bring the television signal into homes world wide.
"I was asked to do the basic design for the cable boxes and as I was near the completion of the boxes the head of engineering asked if I could install cameras and microphones in the cable boxes so there would be two way communication. Not only can you see what you want on the television but the television can see you back as well".
When Mr Justice was asked why he came forward with this information he stated he was wrought with guilt over being the designer of such a device and had to let people know the truth.
When you think about it, why not have two way communication through the cable boxes. People all want boxes in the bedroom and living room. It's almost a no brainer.
This could end up being the ultimate in reality Television. Imagine the possibilities from drama to porn. And the budgets would be almost non-existent. Real people in real situations and real life.
Of course the implications of such information has far reaching implications and could be considered a flagrent violation of personal privacy. Investigations into this matter are being conducted by the Department of Justice and the House Ethics Committees to see if any laws have been broken.
