The Eternal Nature Of Surprise: A Poem Of Love, Lust And Shock By Desmond Bachaus

You stopped.
Deeply, longingly, you looked in to my soul.
Like the stars in the cool blanket of night, I watched the water sparkle and dance in your eyes.
You said I was the one.
You told me that you had never felt this way before.
I too, had never felt like this.

You took my hand.
Clasping my fingers in yours, you held your breath.
I waited for the moment, a whirlwind of emotion, a heady cocktail of the scent of the night air, and your sweet, sweet perfume.
I leaned in, and our lips met.
You told me that you had never felt this way before.
I too, had never felt like this.

We held each other.
An embrace of such lust and longing.
You said you finally, truly knew what contentment felt like, as it wrapped you in its warm, comforting arms.
The kiss spilled in to pure, fiery passion.
You told me that you had never felt this way before.
I too, had never felt like this.

I laid you down softly.
The water lapping gently at the river's edge.
Your perfect flesh given subtle highlights by the light of that full moon, as it shone down so brightly through clear starry skies.
Our passion spilled in to lust.
You told me that you had never felt this way before.
I too, had never felt like this.

I went in for the kill.
Placing my hand on your inner thigh.
You whispered 'my name is really Arnold, and I'm going through the change, just thought you should know, before...'
I left you there, and ran. All night.
You shouted that you had never felt this way before.
I too, had certainly never felt like this.

Bloody katoey.
