Dagny Taggart

Who is John Galt? I mean, REALLY? Who does this new guy think he is anyway? If he thinks I fall for sandy haired, blue-eyed, middle-aged hunks in greasy, fabulously fitted coveralls at the drop of a hat, he's in for a big surprise. And those stories about engines that run forever on a single drop of oil! Ugh!... good luck with that genius!

Hank seems to like him though... If he can ever stop going on and on about his god-awful new chrome formula, or whatever... "Rearden Metal this and Rearden Metal that..." blah, blah, blah... it's enough to make anybody dive into the nearest slag heap...

I wonder what Frisco is doing tomorrow??? Probably blowing all of his daddy's dough on booze and floozies, as usual... Maybe I'll invite him over for a game of "tennis" in the afternoon It's been awhile...

Henry "Hank" Rearden

Dagny is starting to really tick me off. The minute some greasy, muscle bound mechanic pops up she starts in with the "I'm a dynamic, brilliant businesswoman" act. What a flirt! This Galt guy comes out of nowhere with some kind of crappy motor that he says "will make us all rich" and you'd think she was a poor shop girl or something. She owns a frickin' railroad fer Pete's sake!

"Johnny" might be on to something though. But I don't like the way he keeps checking out her legs whenever he thinks she's not noticing. Pretty slick for a grease monkey hillbilly. I give it 2 weeks...

What am I going to do about my wife? I think she knows something's up. How many "research" trips can I take Dagny on without her becoming suspicious? The "looking for old engine parts in broken down barns" cover story is starting to wear thin. But as long as she can throw her boring dinner parties and her creepy brother has enough money to fund his "causes" she'll keep her mouth shut. I hope.

Next week I'll have a bracelet made from my new metal. That ought to keep her quiet for a while. Some day it'll be worth millions. She won't give a crap...

John Galt

Who am I?
