Sources within the Palin campaign have leaked details of a recent meeting and Sarah Palin is not pleased.
Reuters is reporting that a member of her staff, who apparently is not in favor of her presidential run is talking and telling all.
A source speaking on condition of anonymity tells Reuters that Todd Palin is the prime suspect.
Governor Palin has instructed her entire staff to take lie detector tests with the exception of Todd who was called away suddenly for a moose hunt and baby-seal-clubbing jamboree.
Apparently, Ms. Palin asked her technical staff if she won the Iowa caucus, did she get to become president. "No Sarah," said an aide, "you have to win a bunch of other things too!"
"Oh no," said Ms. Palin. I mean, how much time do I have to spend at this?
"A lot," said the aide. "There are many more primaries and there is no guarantee you will win them."
"Really?,"she replied, "but if I win them all, do I get to be president then?"
Aide: "No Sarah, you have to win the general election against a Democrat, probably Obama and then when all the votes are cast, you have to win in the Electoral College."
According to the report, Palin replied: "College! Did you say college? No way! No fancy-pants college kids are going to decide if I'm president or not!"
Aide: "Sarah, it is just a formality. It's the way it is."
The Reuters story notes that Ms. Palin stormed out of the meeting but retuned a few minutes later and said, "OK! If I run and when I win, how long to I have to do this, you know, be president?"
Evidently, the Palin aides looked at each other in puzzlement and one responded reluctantly, "Well, Sarah, you can resign anytime you like."
Palin replied, "OK I'll do it. I've got this cute little outfit for the swearing in, after that, all bets are off!"
In related GOP news, Michele Bachmann has issued a statement in an endeavor to soften her image and expand her base from the ultra-right wing of the party.
The statement reads in part; "If I am elected President, I will, upon consultation and with agreement of other members of my party, free the slaves."
