From a spoof article designed to out Lady Gaga's plans to run for President of the United States in 2012, I attracted Donald Trump's attention to the part of the story about a political reality TV show. I came up with an idea for a political reality TV show many years ago. In 2007, I promoted it for the coming 2008 Presidential election. It didn't catch on so I've been waiting for 2012 to try again.

The concept is simple. I hate watching more money and effort being spent towards the election process than it would take to solve many of the nations problems. It seems elections are about arguing over who should get to solve them rather than getting the job done. I've always wished politicians would spend their campaign money and use their volunteers to actually get something positive done, then let us vote for who we think did the best job. This way, we all come out winners and also elect better-qualified leaders.
Since there doesn't seem to be any sign that the political system is changing towards something that makes sense, I came up with an idea to better promote my reality TV show idea with the hope it will catch on for 2012. Donald Trump has responded saying he is seriously considering producing the world's first political reality TV show. He also says he's going to be a contestant on it if he actually follows through with producing it.
It started with an article I published here at Spood.com about a theory I have that Lady Gaga is planning on running for President. Since she's too young to take oath of office and actually become President, her campaign will not be geared towards getting elected but rather pushing for positive change using the election process as a platform to inform and inspire followers to action. This is primarily what my reality TV show is designed to accomplish, not so much to get candidates elected but to directly address issues and inspire positive change without the aid of government.

After publishing the Lady Gaga theory, I got what appeared to be cryptic emails from Lady Gaga or her producers that alluded to my having been correct about her planning to run for president. I responded with a link to the political TV show idea video. I quickly got back another cryptic message pointing to Lady Gaga having an interest in doing the reality TV. So I wrote a new article telling about the response and posted it here at Spoof.com (link below)
Once the new article ran its course so it wasn't being viewed anymore, I started posting links to it on comment boards for Lady Gaga news articles. Then I started posting links on other popular personality's news articles like Charlie Sheen and EminEm I challenging them to run against Lady Gaga. This drew a lot of readers to the article. Then it occurred to me to go after the obvious and perfect candidate for a presidential reality TV show, Donald Trump. He's a multibillionaire and is planning on spending hundreds of million of dollars to run for president. He also happens to host a reality TV show called "The Apprentice" where Hollywood stars compete to raise money for the favorite charities. This is actually not too different from my idea of solving social problems without big government so it seemed like a good fit put Trump next to it. So I posted hundreds of links to the article challenging him to run against Lady Gaga on a reality TV show.
On Friday, March 18, at 1:12 p.m. Eastern Time, I got an email from a Trump.com email address explaining "the Donald" is seriously considering producing a reality TV show and spend his millions creating real change rather than wasting it on bumper stickers and TV ads attacking his opponents. I was also graciously thanked for inspiring them in that direction and told I might be contacted further if they plan to go through with it.
I can't begin to tell you how happy this made me, not just that a famous person like Trump acknowledged me and the potential this could have for my future, but for the prospect for the positive changes that a TV show like this will have for the future of this country and democracies everywhere that struggling to find a way to elect better quality leaders. I'm hoping it's not forgotten that the reason I came up with this idea was to find a way to my own vision for change in America can compete in a legitimate political process rather than the dysfunctional and corrupt one we're stuck with now.
I actually ran for congress in 2010. I built my campaign around solid ideas that could that can still change the course of the economy and many the other problems we face. Some of them simply need the American people to be better informed about them to force immediate change. If elected, I would have gone to Washington and hired a TV crew rather than a staff of bureaucrats. Then I would have documented how corrupt our nation's capitol is from a new congressmen's perspective so the whole country could see how the system actually works. My goal would have been to chase Wall Street lobbyists out of the Washington to allow citizens with real ideas that can actually help rebuild the American Dream take their place.
