It was over pretty quickly, which is a sentence which shouldn't be interpreted in any other way but for the context of the scenario.
Within a second of us whispering "Bugger", 3.5 and 4 soon discovered our little hiding spot. Olivia was pulled out first, followed by myself.
"Here's one of them now. Number 3.5, do you have the anomaly reader please?"
The woman with the multicoloured hair smiled innocently, then passed over a small globe like sphere. The redhead grinned seductively, then scanned my body. I felt pins and needles shoot up my back as the beam passed over me.
"What technology is that?" Olivia gasped as the beam passed over her.
"She's not of importance. Kill her!" Number 4 whispered. Cold hands covered my eyes as the redhead obscured my vision. A deathly scream pierced my ears, signalling the end of my companion.
"Now then Masterchev. Shall we discuss this scenario like men? I of course not being a man of course. Or would you prefer to join your colleague?"
"I'm not Masterchev. I'm Signor Blanco!" I insisted, my hands being tied behind my back by the rather cute rainbow-haired woman.
"A silly disguise to protect you. Oh Lowton you are one slippery customer."
Standing at a bar, speaking into the payphone in a foreign language.
"Signor Blanco never existed!" Number 4 yelled. "Your entire life has been a lie,"
Charpa found herself walking down a corridor she never knew existed.
She'd lost her fishnets following an incident in the Oasis Bar and Grill. Skoob sure had been acting weirdly recently she figured. But the disappearances were starting to unnerve her.
As she continued down the narrow corridor, she noticed how the lights kept flickering above her. Darkness hovered briefly around her, then retreated.
A figure blocked the fire exit nearby, which she realised was what she was seeking.
Nick Hobbs looked up and smiled weakly.
"Charpa. If you're looking for Mark then he's gone. It's only me here now," he whispered, rubbing a green-painted cheek.
"Actually I was looking for Jean Le Fete. And Masterchev. They've disappeared. Can you redirect me?"
"Of course I can my dear. Just step through the fire exit and you'll probably find them,"
Nick stepped out of the way, leaving a trembling Charpa to push the metal bar down. She didn't trust the mysterious Mr. Hobbs. But she had to find the others. Only she knew of the power which was growing within the Spoof.
The power she'd helped unleash.
And then she started to be consumed by a voracious white light. As she became aware of an intense falling sensation, she could hear the voice of Nick Hobbs speaking from above.
"Some doors remain open forever Charpa. You'll be seeing me very soon,"
"I suggest given the circumstances we kill him. Signs suggest he's linked to the power in some way, and yet he doesn't know yet," Number 4 told Number 3.5 behind my back. Number 3.5 nodded briefly, then went to reach for a thin knife.
Then the storm started. Then the heavens opened.
"Shit!" Number 4 yelled, then approached me. "You're coming with me boyo. Shit I'm copying your accent. Anyway, someone else has just come through, and you're coming with for the ride!"
