It was strange how Penny was looking forward to the new Football season when months before she had been sick to death of the World Cup.
Dad had put an embargo on the World Cup: 'Don't mention the World Cup', so it was easy to forget all about it anyway.
Terry was keen on West Ham but they are not one of the best teams. He goes to see them and has asked me to go with him. I'm really excited at the prospect.
Terry says you have to follow your team through thick and thin. The real fans are always loyal. He says that when a team is doing badly they need the fans more than ever.
Terry and the other West Ham fans are needed a lot.
Terry won the match for the school last week. It was 1 - 0 and he scored in the last minute. I wanted to run onto the pitch and give him a big hug, but he had half the team doing that before I could get a chance.
It was a pretty dull game otherwise. The ref, our Sports master, was forever blowing his whistle. I prefer it whan I'm singing 'I'm forever blowing bubbles, pretty bubbles in the sky.' It's a really odd song for a football team.
Terry says it's ironic and it's self mockery, but Seb says the real words are 'I'm forever blowing bubbles and like West Ham they fade and die.'
Terry almost challenged him to another fight, but I'm glad to say he then treated the 'joke' with the contempt it deserves and left it at that.
