It was in 1995 on the outskirts of Lancaster, little John Davidson an eight year old boy played football with his friends in the street. Every night his mother would tuck him up in bet always commenting on how tidy his room was.
"It was the little grey man" John would say every night, but his mother thought nothing of it thinking that like most children he had an imaginary friend.
Two years later John was seriously ill after catching meningitis. He was rushed to the local hospital were the doctors told John's mother the bad news that he had a very advanced stage of meningitis and unfortunately he was not expected to last through the night. In the morning John sat up in bed apparently fully recovered to the astonishment of his doctors who thought it was a miracle. When John spoke to his mother he said he got help to recover he said "It was the little grey man".
Many years later John was involved in a car crash with three of his friends. John was a passenger in the car that was a total write off. When the emergency services got to the scene they found John's three friends dead but John only had a few scratches and semi conscious he muttered the words "It was the little grey man".
John joined the army and was sent to fight in Iraq. One day he was cut off from the rest of his platoon and surrounded by insurgents. His army mates heard the sound of gunfire for several minutes and thought John must be a goner. Later after the insurgents had fled his army mates went to investigate and found John injured but still alive. The army doctor said "its only a minor bullet wound to the leg how the hell did he survive". John looked up at the Doctor and said "It was the little grey man".
As the rest of the soldiers searched the area John heard a soldier cry out "What the hells that". Lying a few hundred yards from John was a little grey man its body riddled with bullets.
