Fraternal twins, Hope and Change: Died within months of each other after protracted illnesses.
Born prematurely, some years before the Common Era, the twins frequently suffered health problems but both also hit stunning heights during their lifetimes.
Hope, always feeble, caught a cold while watching President Obama's marathon 5 hour inaugural parade. Hope never recovered and died in February of Pneumonia. Suffering many near death experiences through-out her life, Hope somehow always managed to be born anew.
Hope was long suffering and ever-present until the end. Although many had abandoned Hope, Hope never failed. Her Friends were fond of saying, "Hope springs eternal."
Change, often the stronger of the two, died this snowy Christmas Eve, in Washington, D.C., when hit by an express bus driven by a group of drunken senators who were rushing to get out of town after voting for it's death.
Change was alternately admired, despised, and feared. Change was never as bad as critics said, nor as good as people thought, but Change was both constant and consistent.
There are a lot of little Changes left behind, but they don't amount to much.
