"Maybe I never told you
on those lonely, lonely nights,
How fun it was to light up
After one of our fights.
The little things I could have said & done
I just didn't take the time,
But music & dope was on my mind,
It was always on my mind."
Yep, that's what life is about according to Willie Nelson, music and pot.
"How do you think I got through those income tax days or when Alice cut off my pigtails?", asked Willie in an interview on UP2, with host Bob Dylan.
"Yeah, man those yeah..weed huh hee, your key Willie?"
Willie then explained why he was happier than everybody in the studio.
"I was even happier during those little drug busts, than those guys who hauled me away. They were the ones with all the pressure."
"For music and the tambourine man,
Living in the Promised Land.
Living in the Promised Land."
"Yeah..EVERYBODY must get stoned!"
Willie tells Bob that's right. No matter what you do, somebody's going to put you down.
"See you at the ballpark later, Bob?'
"There.... Merle Haggard?"
"Yeah., if he's still alive."
"All the Federales say, he could have played music night and day
We just let him puff away...out of kindness I suppose."
