Dear Father Frank,

Just a quick note to thank you for the social hour in the rectory last Sunday; I am very honored to have been selected the guest of honor, but I must admit that I am a bit saddened that none of the other invitees were thoughtful enough to accept your kind invitation. Oh, well, I kind of enjoyed having you all to myself; such stimulating conversation! It was wonderful to have a bit of adult companionship for a change. It is so hard, being stuck in the house with the kids all day since Big Tom died in that terrible accident.

Father, I must confess that I did not bake those special brownies; my eldest, Teresa, did, as a special favor to me.

She and her friends always have a great time when they have their sleep overs and do some baking......they are always laughing and giggling and carrying on.

Come to think of it, we were acting pretty much the same on Sunday!

Father, I am so relievedthat you feel the same as I do about Teresa. I have been so concerned about her entering high school. She is the same age I was when I met her father; he looked so distinguished in his suit and tie at the front of my American History class!

I am so grateful that you have offered her a full scholarship to The Blessed Beloved Weeping Festering Wound on the Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ Catholic School for Girls. Boarding school may be hardon her at first, but I'm sure she'll adapt quickly and the nuns will make her feel quite at home. I'm sure it will be better for her in the long run. I am just glad she will have a chance to get the education I never did.

Not that I regret marrying Big Tom, mind you. I would have liked to have been able to complete my freshman year, though. I am glad he had the foresight to buy those huge
life insurance policies and the social security benefits help me along quite a bit as well. It would have been really hard to raise eight children alone if not for his financial planning.

Well, this note has grown quite long, so I shall close for now.

Once again, thank you for all of your wonderful help. All your efforts on my behalf are greatly appreciated.

Your sister in Christ,

Rebecca
