image for Rush Limbaugh thinks Miss California "Controversy" is About Free Speech Rush Limbaugh: Carrie Prejean's First Amendment rights are being violated

RUSH: Now, I'm... (sigh) I'm just able to see graphics on these TV monitors here. But MSNBC, I guess there's some kind of press conference going on right now. The co-director of the Miss California USA Pageant is addressing "the controversy" over Miss California. What controversy? (interruption)

Perhaps one with the five semi-nude photos of feckless Carrie Prejean.

What controversy? (interruption)

The one about the PR person she hired which violated her contract.

She "violated her contract" by speaking out where? (interruption)

She is now a spokesperson for the National Association of Marriage and has made a TV ad for them. This is another contract violation.

If she had become a spokesperson for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) which does protect the First Amendment rights of Americans, Limbaugh would have been talking about it or weeks.

Is that what this is about? She took a semi nude picture when she was younger? That's not what this is about.

Actually that is a contract violation. She had already certified none of naughty pictures existed.

They may say that's what this is about.

It's really is about multiple contract violations.

This is about her citing her belief in God when she answered the question about gay marriage.

She actually said nothing about God when she answered Perez Hilton's question about gay marriage. She said, "I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other ... same sex marriage or opposite marriage," then added, "I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman ... that's how I was raised."

They're just getting a lot of heat. What controversy?

She also forgot to show up for a photo shoot and missed several scheduled appearances as Miss California.

Folks, we are headed for the day in this country, if things don't change, where some of us are going to be fined for things that we say.

Like the joke Wanda Sykes aid about Rush Limbaugh? The joke created a firestorm on the right.

We are headed, someday, to where some people are going to be put in jail for things they say. The First Amendment is not gonna matter. We've already got hate crime legislation. Do you know what hate crime legislation is? That's where they determine what's in your mind when you commit a crime.

Is this some new police technology that can read people's minds?

That's where they determine what you were thinking, and if you were thinking unapproved thoughts, that would make the crime you committed even worse because of what your attitude was at the time you did it. So if you committed like manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, but you had some kind of thought in your mind that was not approved, then they could maybe move it up to manslaughter one or even murder two. We're headed that way.

This is the simple rambling of a right wing sock puppet.

What controversy?

The one about breach of contract, Rush. Carrie Prejean has violated her contract with the Miss California Pageant numerous times. It is simple as that.

I am hoping to see the Donald Trump's cobra strike on Prejean's derrière one fine day. She needs to be fired.
