Emerald City: My grandfather told me this fable about three executives and the raising of a chicken. Each man in their own turn managed the same magnificent Company. The three were Jimmy, Ron and George.
Jimmy was clueless, worried about every Company detail and could not see the programmatic big picture. While Jimmy was a farmer earlier in his life, he did not know what or how to make the chick grow into a chicken, and always made the wrong decisions.
Ron came in aged in years, but not in spirit. He studied the Company Constitution, wrote his own job description and would not conduct business as usual. Ron correctly recognized the chicken was all bones and needed meat and feathers to survive. He set the wheels in motion for the company to go down the "right" path.
George was hailed as the successor to Ron and reaped the benefits of Ron's thinking. However, many of the Company's Board Members believed that it was back to business as usual. What happened to the chicken? Some think George either ate it or made chicken soup!
A new young prospective executive with a name that sounds like Borat is vying for the job being vacated by George. He goes around with a brown bag that has two chicken feet sticking out the top and is always talking about change. There definitely is no meat on this chicken!
