My google search for 'juggling' gave me a staggering figure of half a million entries, none of which, I am sure, had anything to do with what I was looking for.
Almost all entries, I checked, established that 'toss juggling' dated back to about 2000 years ago, in Egypt.
Actually, I was interested, first, to find out if a form of juggling I have seen played in Middle East was mentioned or not. It was not.
This form of juggling requires two children, normally females. It is played on a level dirt ground while squatting, with minimum two small pebbles, the size of a marble, or, maximum, a handful, probably eight.
The player places the props, at least two, on the flat ground and then tosses one pebble about two feet upward, while the other one(s) rest on the ground. The player must collect the stationary marble(s) on the ground with a quick sweeping stroke, and, then, catch the falling prop before it hits the ground.
The other form of juggling I had in mind was the world-wide game being played by millions of people unconsciously. This juggling takes place in every corner of the world. To illustrate this daily sport, I need to mark two yellow balls, one carrying the depiction of a donkey, representing Democrats, and the other one an elephant, representing Republicans. For some countries, I mark the props 'Rubbish' or 'Shibbur''.
In this juggling, millions of voters and non-voters, turn hilarious when they see, after the elections, their favorite ball is up and running. They claim enormous victory. Their leaders, during the campaign, assume the role of an army general leading his men to battle fields. Voters put a great deal of faith in these generals. Of course, people can not be expected to be a shrink to identify the true personality disorder of these attention seekers.
However, people do fail to see it is the mind of the juggler that deserves admiration, not the hypothetically differing arms. In other words, it is that peculiar coordination between the hands and the mind that matters. Therefore, a juggler can be genuinely proud of his talent and achievement because he owns his mind, but, in case of the 3rd type of juggling, the credit can not be passed to the individual voters; it should go to the invisible mind which remains behind the scene but in tight control of all those theoretically differing parties. Job well done, imperceptible gods!
