VANCOUVER (Varietal Magazine) - The voice on the other end of the telephone was fraught with panic: "Listen to me, I need to disappear for a little while... If they even know that I am talking with you, your life could be in danger too!"
Ever-compliant with the wishes of his crack staff of writers, Spoof! editor Mark Lowton immediately purged his mainframe of any record of the caller named "Ryan's Plan".
No sooner had TheSpoof.com been purged of its highly-sensitive content than the phone line went 'dead'. At that point neighbors outside Spoof! headquarters overheard Mr. Lowton shriek, "Oh, the humanity!" A raven cawed.
"Cut!" yelled the Director. "Bring in the stunt double!" (More filming...) "That's a wrap!"
So began filming on the latest version of Spoof! (the Movie) in Vancouver last week. The film, which had been stalled for months due to lack of studio interest, received a fresh breath of life in September when an unknown donor (rumored to be American adventurer Steve Fossett) sent a large sum of money in an unmarked manila envelope to Spoof! central -- the words 'follow your bliss' clearly written in black marker.
Stay tuned for more updates as filming continues...
