image for Taliban Blues Band Belts Out New Hit

Taliban City, Talibania (IP) - We find our music and entertainment reporter on the scene, Ebenezer Finootch, in a dimly lit coffee shop on Osama Street secretly writing down a transcript of a new blues song which has become a big hit with Talibanese youth still fortunate enough to own a radio and those hard to get D-cell batteries that these radios require.

Mr. Finootch says you can actually play his transcript on your guitar :

The song starts out with the following chords:

E-chord...A chord...Open strings chord...E chord and repeats four times.

then 12 bar blues:
with E maj 7 - four bars
then A maj 7 - two bars
then E maj 7 - 2 bars
then B maj - 2 bars
and E maj 7 - 2 bars

The words to the blues tune are :

I went across the border
To get myself in line
With all my jihad brothers
who are runnin out of time

there aint no need to look back
at my racing camels nine
I know they'll be in good hands
when they cross the finish line

oh lord I gots the Talibani blues
and when this thing is over
I'm goin a cruise
umm - umm- ah umm umm umm

Throw in a little harmonica, some tamborine, a cowbell, and add a bass line and you'll be good to go with some good ole foot stompin Taliban blues.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
