In the small hours, the battle cries of two stray large tomcats made sleep for the inhabitants really impossible. The cries were not regular meows; they were accompanied by accentuated words and expressions very similar to man's everyday conversation and, consequently, interpretable. Whether the fight was territorial dispute or sexual claims, could not be determined.

Since the fighting had become almost every night business, neighbors randomly tried for a couple of nights to shoo them away to no avail. Of course, nothing could be thrown at them due to possible damage to window glass pane etc, let alone nonexistent firearms. Someone tried splashing some water at them in the belief that cats hate water. It did not scare them at all. They were so involved in their bloody fights as if they were blind, deaf and numb to any aggression. The wall and the iron gate were covered with blood. They clawed and bit each other like two fighting cocks. Clumps of cat fur everywhere.

This was a good case to see how chemistry, testosterone, could subdue fear in animals and turn them careless in the face of danger or even death.

We read: an impulse is a sudden wish or urge, an unpremeditated act or feeling, or an abrupt inclination. In other words, like a cat jumping on a sparrow.

In psychology, disinhibition is a lack of restraint or temporary loss of inhibition caused by a stimulus such as alcohol or another substance.

In case of two tomcats, they had both turned aggressive like men having certain amount of alcohol in their blood stream. They, cats, were engaged in a bloody fight, while fear of the approaching human being, secondary, was subdued, proving of various layers of fears.

It seems fear generated by religion is much deep and cannot be subdued. Muslims, particularly Sunnis are conditioned to avoid talking to anyone trying to enlighten them. It does not matter whether this Sunni is the son of a general of King Faisal of Iraq, PhD, professor of physics or an illiterate construction worker of Afghanistan, a Taliban sympathizer, fleeing his country to earn his meager living.

This construction worker relates that Taliban fighters put up in his father's house. He emphasized that the local people including himself like Taliban's rule of Allah, that is cutting off peoples' hands and feet, stoning to death of women and flogging people for certain minor crimes. Paradoxically, this worker had undergone devastating hardship to leave Afghanistan to reach a moderately safer neighboring country for a lower wage, but keeps sending his hard-earned wages back to his father, a Taliban provider. Apparently, his father cultivates opium poppy and delivers the stuff to Taliban, Sunni clerics, to export to west.

When asked if Taliban, Islamic clerics, can make high explosive devices that can kill 50 people in veggie market and mutilating 150 women and children, he avoided answering. Asked if he knew anything about Enron and the White House who worked closely with the Taliban to help protect their future gas pipe, his feeling got badly hurt and angrily left!

In case of two fighting cats, eventually one who is more ferocious wins. In case of Taliban or ISIS, we hears in the news that 2000 ISIS vs. 70,000 regular army of Iraq, the winner is ISIS just like year 635 A.D. when the first ISIS of the time brought down the Persian Empire at the same place in the present day Iraq. Cowards lose.
