Decadence refers to deteriorated standards, morals, loss of dignity, indulgence in power, pleasure or luxury, sex, crime, lawlessness, loss of economic discipline due to the corruption of state officials', repulsive corrupt bureaucracy etc. Undoubtedly, in such a society we witness cultural decay: decline of education, the weakening of cultural foundations, loss of respect for tradition including elderly, parents and increase in materialism. Moral decay takes place, including rise in immorality, and the devaluing of human life.

How can all this happen unchecked? It's Simple. Decadence is gradual as the frog parable goes: If you throw a frog into boiling water, it will immediately jump out. But if you place the frog into cool water and slowly heat it up to boiling point, the frog won't notice and will stay in the pot until it is cooked. The same applies to people. People are remarkably adaptable; they will adjust to anything happening around them.

Let's consider a very rudimentary case relating to a patient trying to find an endodontist. Due to general decadence, the corrupt officials in charge of auto-industry push hard to produce cars to the level that all streets, yes, all streets, are clogged with cars parked on pavements, as well as streets. Therefore, our patient can not use her car, if any. She has to walk to be able to see doctor's sign. Her first shot is close by, half a mile. Two endos: female and male. 6th fl. No elevator. Half dead, reaching and ringing. No reply! No one around to ask. Goes back home to use local language internet. Good. New addresses. Different direction. Two miles away. On top of a bank. On the corner. No bank. No sign. Inquiring. No one knows anything. Returns. Criss Cross checks all signs. Good. Two billboard size signs. Turning round and round till finding the entrance. Good. Another sign. No one sitting at the information desk. 7-story building. OK. Take the 4th floor; half-way. Checking and climbing the dirty stairs. Floor by floor. Till reaching the roof. No office at all. Climbing downward: 3-2-… Damn it. 2nd floor. Endo dentist. Sweating like hell. Push the button. No reply. No one around to inquire. Leaving the building, see men sitting on steps outside silently watching the cars, men, women to pass the time. Is one of them the Information? Have already walked 1 and half miles. Exhausted. Suddenly seeing a sign: Dr. XYX, Endo. The sign reads: Flat 16. Which fl. to take? The safest way is to go as high as the elevator goes. Then start checking each floor of total 6 story building. Finally found the sign on 4th fl. Visiting hours OK. Ring the bell. No reply. Tried other phone numbers of other dentists; a voice said she will be here once a week Monday mornings. Today is Tuesday.

Sound stupid? What's going on? It is one itty-bitty aspect of a deteriorated society. No respect for others. To hell with others. Why should I, the dentist, spend money to remove the signs after moving? Where is he now: in Canada, USA, Britain, Europe? Can these countries be safe with so many of such people living among the locals? I don't think so. Future will prove who is right.

Things like this happen because legal systems are broken. Because all countries are run by an utterly corrupt political class. Moral decay is widespread. José Ortega y Gasset,1883-1955, Spain, is noted to have said: "Order is not pressure which is imposed on society from without, but an equilibrium which is set up from within." Congratulation. Good Sign
