Have you ever heard of a hybrid political system composed of one or more technically opposites?

Take, for instance, the United Kingdom which is comprised of four nations: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is a devolved government. In other word, it is being granted a home rule. First, the overall ruler was called the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, the British monarch's official representative and head of the Irish executive, from 1171 till 1922. Then he was called President of Ireland, a ceremonial job. Presently the incumbent is Michael D. Higgins, since 11 November 2011.

UK, as a former colonist, did accumulate an extensive experience in establishing and sustaining colonies under various names: the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan etc.

I am sure Darwin spent some time studying various herds? A herd, by definition, refers to a social grouping of certain animals, including common people, masses and rabble. It happens that both men and sheep have a natural tendency, that is, to follow a leader.

The leader of a herd is a male goat but the leader of human masses is not. Of course, a herd needs no western-style elections. Leadership, willy-nilly, requires some physical appearance, like the male goat which is much bigger than a normal male goat. In Homo sapiens, there are some exceptions: Napoleon. Nature gives the male goat good managerial skills. Consequently, sheep follow the leader as a matter of course, neither by deception nor by coercion. On the hand, colonists learned that local leaders in their colonies eventually turned nationalist, so the colonists had to come up with a solution: the colonist's or the dictator's representative should be physically present at the top of all major institutes. It seems to have worked so far, of course, before a revolt!

However, the time for traditional colonialism even empty independence ploy, is over. A new strategy has been adopted. Why not give the liars, criminals, thieves, murderers a chance to rule and see how these people operate when they are in charge.

Now, we see the former criminals wearing police uniform. For some years, the nations suffered a lot at the hand of these gangs. After the engineered uprising, the criminals were urged to disarm the former police force and sit in their place. Now they are fully rich, but a new gang of criminals has emerged. The criminals-turned-police establishment is now in a dilemma: to treat the gang as friends or enemy.

Presently, the former criminals-turned-police gang so far has decided to establish a union with the newly-born criminals by getting their shares. After this period, they will be forced to sever the ties. As far as the colonist is concerned this is back to square one.

In the mean time, the colonists have undergone a new development: not to openly assassinate their renegade nationalist leaders but to employ Hollywood-style tactics: cinematographic techniques such as the dead leader going into coma or wearing jumpsuits prancing on National TVs, or sitting on a high chair with a healthy-looking masque etc.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
