image for Why Gun Companies Love Obama

It's hard to watch the news for five minutes without hearing "The government / police / aliens / Liberals / 'Mickey Mouse' Club are on their way to your house right F*ing now to take your guns!"

The internet is a buzzing with the news that New York is creating harsh anti-gun regulations. The US Congress has held hearings where they invited industry experts to tell them facts and stories while most of the Congressional members took naps.

What America needed was a fair and balanced report. What they got was the informed consensus of the talking heads from Fox News. These intellectual power houses tend to follow their Guessologist's Hopejections to the logical conclusion of, "It's a disaster! It's the end of the World! By 2015 there will be no guns held by private citizens! It's been over a week, has anything else happened?"

With all these regulations how can companies such as Smith and Wesson and Strum, Rugar & Co (both publicly traded companies) make any money? It turns out that a pro-gun regulation President in the White house is the best thing that could happen to them.

For the record, I am NOT a registered Financial Advisor. You should NOT take into account any information I write about when buying or selling any form of financial equity. The examples I'm providing are public information and used merely to illustrate a point.

Smith and Wesson
Bush (2000-2008) - 486% increase in stock price
Obama (2009-Present) - 522% increase in stock price

Strum, Rugar & Co
Clinton (1993 - 2000) - 76% increase in stock price
Bush (2000-2008) - 39% decrease in stock price
Obama (2009-Present) - 812% increase in stock price

The point is the invisible hand of the market has spoken! And, that invisible hand needs 750 milligrams of Vicodin after shooting 21 boxes of ammo it had to go all over town to buy. The demand is so great that most distributors are putting a cap of three boxes for each type of ammo. It doesn't take a super computer with advanced algorithmic capabilities to form this equation:

(Democrat in the White House + Democrat Majority in the House or Senate) X Media Outrage = Mad Fat Sacks of Cash for the gun companies!

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
